We are a group of highly enthusiastic surf instructors focused on teaching our students the basics of surfing in a safe and well-monitored environment. Our team appreciates you entrusting yourself or your children with us and we promise that our staff is fully-trained and educated. Our instructors provides equal attention and time to each member of our camp in order to leave them with a true love for the ocean. A smile from ear to ear as you or your children catch the first wave is our number one goal. Our staff is highly knowledgable with the conditions of the ocean and we will not host a camp in which ocean conditions are too rough for inspiring surfers. Each member is CPR-certified and prepared for emergency situations.
Brandon Bent is an avid surfer, husband to Robin Bent, and loving father to baby Bailey Bent. Brandon grew up on the beaches of Melbourne and has resided in Brevard County his entire life. He caught his first wave at the young age of 4 and has been passionate about the sport for almost 20 years. He was inspired to start a surf school after working various camps and providing private instruction for 3 years. However, his true motivation comes from the happiness this health-concious sport has brought to kids from all over the world. The smile on their face when they catch their first wave brings light to his spirit.
President of Business Development
Jessica Bent is sister to the Founder, Brandon Bent. She grew up on the ocean and spent years surfing. She is an entrepreneur and business owner originally from Brevard County, Fl. Jessica is responsible for all business development and structure and oversees the program functionality.
Austin is a graduate from the University of Elon. He graduated with a degree in Exercise Science while playing Divisin I Baseball. Although Baseball was a strong sport for him, Austin always kept his passion for surfing. He lived just a few steps from the beach and started surfing at the age of 8. He has aspirations to join the Airforce, but until then, you can find him either at the beach or furthering his education to become a Chiropractor.
Nick Monroe is a born and raised Floridian. His passion for the ocean and the sport or surfing has shined for the the past 15 years and shows no sign of slowing down. Before graduating High School, Nick competed with the surfing team locally, at Melbourne High. Nick is excited to pass down his athletic surfing techniques and help surfers of all ages.
Tyler surfs competitively for the University of North Florida surf team against colleges across the east and west coast. In the summer Tyler returns to his hometown of Melbourne Beach, FL, to enjoy the beautiful beaches and instruct surfing camps with Fun in the Sun Surf School. This allows him to share his joy of surfing with kids of all ages. He is highly-trained and experienced in surf instruction and ocean awareness.
Colby grew up surfing side by side with his older brother and head instructor, Brandon Bent. Colby learned surf instruction skills at a young age because his older brother encouraged him to surf to the best of his ability. He is extremely patient with his students and takes time to comfortably ease new surfers into the sport. Colby spends his free time working and studying web design.

Fun in the Sun Surf School is accepting applications for instructors. Fun in the Sun Surf Instructors should be extremely strong swimmers and have an extensive background in surfing.
